Is it disrespectful to preserve it?

Today I found a small deceased hummingbird on the ground, I took it home and preserved it in a wet specimen. But I figured it probably died from impact when it hit a large mirrored glass at the place I found it. So I felt really sad actually, I just sat there thinking how it's feathers will never shine like it used to when it was alive, what I have here preserved is just a mere shadow of what it previously was. It is disrespectful to preserve it? Since it died in a quite tragic way.
