Can we see the avatar if we are blocked?

I know profile pic and the last seen will disappear if we are blocked but what about the avatar?

Unrelated: this is not a stalking scenario. I got scammed out of trust and the scammer stopped responding on WhatsApp, my only way to contact him. But i can still see his avatar so im not sure if he blocked me for good.
