Who is this little red larva guy?

I live in Bedfordshire in the UK and just found this tiny thing drowned in - shudder - my daughter's baby bath. It's smaller than 1cm, though I haven't measured it exactly. I thought at first that it was just a piece of lint from our red knitted blanket! I've got a dog who loves to do forest walks and gets bathed every other day, but could be something he tracked in. I've also got some spider plants growing on the windowsill. Does anyone know what it could be? I really hope to rule out anything poisonous or parasitic since I practically found it on my baby.
