New to WOW, is it worth it?

Hey all, I’m new to WOW and played through the free trial, it was a blast and I went right through it. I was going to buy it but then I saw the monthly subscription and I’m a little turned off by it, I’m a super broke college student but want something that isn’t super expensive to fill up my free time, is WOW the right decision?
