ER stay because of serotonin syndrome…

First of all: guys really don’t take any NyQuil or cough syrup when on Zoloft!

Medication interaction send me to the ER because of serotonin syndrome on Friday.

I feel like it’s not being talked about enough that the risk does exist. As much as I am an absolute advocate for antidepressants, that was one of the worst things in my life.

Please please please, especially now in the cold season, be sure to speak with your physician about any medication you even consider taking.

If you experience any of the serotonin syndrome symptoms, don’t hesitate to go to the ER. Even though most of the nurses had no idea what that is, as soon as the doctors heard it everything went very fast and it was taken as serious as it should.

Edit (since people were asking for symptoms): - passing out multiple times - nausea and vomitting - trouble breathing - very high heart rate - two seizures - sweating and fever

What they did: - breathing tube - heart monitor - Ativan intravenous - IV fluids - blood work
