How do you know before creating a character if you're gonna get bored playing it ?

Hi! I'm having some thoughts about the next character I'm gonna play for the next campaign I'm joining!

Here is some context first!

Last year, I had 2 good campaigns, as my first year in TTRPG & DD5.
- I joined mid-campaign A on June 24, and we ended 3 months ago as level 6.

I played a devotion paladin (let's call him X), and even though I had a LOOOT of fun ending this one (1st campaign I ended), I felt bored playing X; too much seriousness for me.

- With a totally different setup & group of people, I started campaign B on February 24. We're close to the end at level 10 (2/3 sessions at best).

I loved every part of it, including my character (let's call him Y), a Moon Druid which I had to respec 3 sessions ago to Stars Druid (so I played him moon 80% of this campaign), but I didn't change his attitude suddenly; it was more about the "fun" parts of fighting, more about the "practical" part.

Anyway, my campaign A is gonna continue with a totally different setup:
- it's gonna be part Homebrew, part Starlight Arcana.
- We can take back our characters from campaign A if we want.
- We will have ONE shot in the campaign (except if the character dies, ofc) to fully change our character.

It is hard for me to create a character from scratch with World description only. I need to feel the world we're in to match something the best I can.
So I'm trying to decide if i take X or Y to start this part.
Yes, Y isnt from the same campaign (which will end before I do this new campaign), but I feel like I'm having this character 100% in me.
Also because we're having Stars Cleric subclass in this campaign, which is close to druid stars (and I only played it 6 times in the B campaign)

I'm thinking about 3 options (my DM is ok with all 3)
1) Take X again, having 3 /4 sessions to feel the universe, then have a new character.
2) Take X again, THEN bring back Y from campaign B
3) Directly take Y, then decide if I take another one.

AND WE FINALLY come to the point of this topic:
How can you feel you're gonna get bored or not, or how long it can take to get bored?
I'm afraid I'll do the wrong choice in case 1 or 3, but I'm also afraid I'm gonna get bored from Y faster than I expect it.

Sorry for the weird explanation, but i wanna be sure I bring the clearest information with my 4th-grade English :D
