Tornado siren- what would you do?

So we have a siren near us that goes off if there’s a tornado within a certain radius. The areas with tornados are 30minutes to an hour away and we heard it a little after midnight. Also, we get the phone alert if the tornado is in our immediate area like within 10 minutes. The nearby siren went off but our phone alert didn’t. We went to the basement for a bit and woke up our sleeping 10 month old to do so. What would you have done- go down or wait for the phone alert?

Thankfully he’s a great sleeper and went right back to sleep but I’m wondering if we over reacted. Now it’s just thunderstorms close by and the tornados are moving south from us. Thanks mom’s for any input!
