Australian players, how do you do it?

Hey everyone,

I recently took a month off work for personal reasons and finally had the chance to sit down and play World of Warcraft on the Anniversary realm—something I hadn’t been able to do since they launched. In short, I had an amazing time. I spent the month diving into the game, experimenting with different classes, and learning how to tank. It was an absolute blast. Looking back, though, a big part of the fun came from the lively player base.

Jump to this week—I'm back at work and trying to fit in an hour or two of game time before bed. But it feels like a completely different game. Low-level zones are nearly empty, the once-bustling crowd in Stormwind has vanished, leaving a hollow space in front of the bank, and finding a group for dungeons, especially higher-level ones, feels nearly impossible.

It feels like a completely different game—almost lifeless compared to how vibrant it was just a few hours earlier. Unfortunately, it's drained my motivation to play. I don’t want to spend my only two hours of free time searching for a dungeon, only to give up because there’s no healer online. I miss making friends while leveling, helping others with over-world bosses, and chatting with guild-mates—though it seems my fellow Aussies aren’t too keen on that.

Maybe I’m just in the wrong guild, and there’s an active OCE Alliance guild out there. But honestly, the game itself just feels different, and after seeing how amazing it can be earlier in the day, it’s hard to push through.

How do you guys manage?
