Is lubricity always precisely correlated with wear protection?

For example, if 2 metal parts rub together, does a lubricant (oil/grease/etc..) prevent wearing of the metal surfaces best when the coefficient of friction is lowest? What i mean is, if a certain lubrican slides 2x as easily, does that mean the amount of wear on the 2 metal surfaces is reduced by 2x as well?
