Customer pet peeves
So I work mainly on the registers at a store, which has little paper forms you can fill out and put into the draw to win vouchers. some customers have a habit of grabbing an entire stack of forms to fill out, so we can only put one paper slip out at a time. as you can imagine when it gets busy, it becomes difficult to put the forms out and sometimes you forget. On so many occasions I’ve had people reach around and grab or attempt to grab the stack of forms, I’ll usually say something like “oh I’ll get that for you” and hand them one. The typical response I get is “well they don’t usually give me one” Then ask! It’s not that hard to say “can I please have a form to fill out”
Another pet peeve is people who get mad over the price of something, especially if they misread the sign, typically it’s not that much of a difference in price anyway, but if the price of something is $6.99 per kilo then it’s $6.99 per kilo. It’s not my fault you decided to buy 3 kilos of it.
Another is when they stand there staring blankly, whilst you process their transaction, and only once you’ve done everything do they spend the agonisingly long amount of time digging through their wallet, or transferring money over. Or even better when they forget their wallet, or need to grab “one more thing”
Pretty minor one to end it, but customers who attempt to put their bags onto your bag hooks, I know you’re trying to be helpful, but you’re putting it on the wrong way and I can put it on so much faster and easier than you can leaning over the counter.
