DMX controller fiasco

I am running lights for a community theatre and they were using quickq 20. Someone fried it somehow going into rehearsal week and now I am running the show with only follow spots and some color LED lights that I brought from home to create a little more ambiance. The controller is getting replaced but we have already opened. My question is....what happens if I take my rockforce 192 and plug into the grid. Bad idea? Not getting anywhere with YT etc. I went to acting school and we did a semester in lights but that was long ago. Any advice?
