OCPD is characterized by 4 or more symptoms: maladaptive perfectionism; over preoccupation with details, rules, and organization; devotion to productivity to the exclusion of leisure activities and relationships; overconscientious and inflexibility re: morals and ethics; rigidity; compulsive frugality; reluctance to delegate tasks; and hoarding. Individuals with PDs have an “enduring pattern” of symptoms (generally defined as 5 years or more) “across a broad range" of situations.
