Pro tip 2 seconds up 4 seconds down is key. You don’t want to rely on momentum when lifting and you get better, longer muscles from doing it slower and longer going down. If you want maximum results ten seconds up and down show in studies to gain 10-20% more using less weight it is a perfect way to have some gains when you have the beginning of a strain setting in from not enough rest. You want to aim for 6-8 reps till you can’t lift for starting weight then each visit you will be able to do another rep until reaching 12 then move up to the next plate. Progressive overload is key. If you want bulk use a weight that you can’t do more than 4 reps at for starting then build to 8 then add more weight rinse and repeat. There are also sport specific training techniques.
